Future and current fundraising activities for the
Twisty Pines Playground Foundation
Over the next 8 months we will have many opportunities to meet and mingle with neighbors to support this community-built playground. Here are a few fundraisers we have planned over the next few months.
Thursday, July 24 Family Fun Night: At JJ Mugs in Abacoa from 5-8 pm (see ad in newsletter for more details).
July 30th Home Shopping Party: There will be multiple vendors, including Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Discovery Toys and more. A percentage of sales will go to the playground. Please feel free to bring friends for a fun-filled girls’ night out. The party is at 7282 163rd Ct. N in PBCE at 7p.m.
Shopping Bags: We are selling large reusable shopping bags with the Twisty Pines Playground logo on the front. These bags are great for taking to the grocery store as well as the beach. You can purchase these bags form Sheri Murray for $10 at 561-601-1647 to show your support for the playground.
Flea Market: We hope to have this in mid-September at the main entrance of PBCE, complete with yard sale items and vendors selling their wares. If you are interested in buying table space to sell your own items or to donate items for the yard sale please contact Sheri Murray at 561-601-1647.
Casino Party: The one in June was a such a success that we are planning to have another one in mid- October. Please continue to check your newsletter and www.twistypinesplayground.org for more details as they become available.
Online shoppers: Link to www.giveness.com/twistypines before you make purchases at your favorite stores. A portion of each sale will go to the playground!
Business Owners: Remember to check the playground website to find out how to sponsor a playground component so your name can be seen at the playground for many years to come.
Personalized Fence Pickets: Routed with your name or message, these pickets will surround the playground. Individual or family pickets $30 each. Business or corporate pickets $50 each. Check the website for order form.
Personalized Bricks: Laser engraved with your name, message, stock clip art, or company logo. These bricks will pave the entryway to the playground. Check the website for prices and available sizes and order form.

June 2008
Casino Party a Huge Success!
Neighbors from all over Palm Beach Country Estates arrived at Steven and Sheri Murray’s home on 163rd June 7 for a casino party where more than $3,494.00 was raised for Twisty Pines Playground. During solicitation for the Casino Night we also received one brick order and three component orders, along with a few donor board donations. If you add those, the grand total comes to $6,344.00!
More than 70 tickets were sold to this kick-off fundraising event. With first vice-president Kevin Baker at the Roulette table, Joan and Bill Bolds dealing the Texas Hold ‘Em tournament and Arie Strobel, Bill Meyers and Adam Morrison heading up the blackjack tables, neighbors and friends had plenty of fun spending play money. Twenty-eight raffle items kept those who didn’t want to play the games entertained as they cashed in their fake money for piles of raffle tickets. Holly and Adam Morrison had such success with raffles that the crowd booed in envy when they won yet another prize!
Two tables worth of poker players proved their Texas Hold ‘Em skills. Frank Gavin beat out his neighbors to win a $150 gift certificate to the Ironwood Grill at PGA Resort and Spa.
Silent auction tables kept neighbors busy. Daniela Russell fought to buy a huge basket filled with princess dress up costumes, while a Twisty Pines tote bag filled with four towels and four Rapids tickets was the hottest item of the night!
Debbie Gavin, Wendy Baribeau, Lisa Noll and Chris Reinhardt rounded out the night with a huge display of appetizers that kept gamers bellies full.
Neighbors had such fun, that they stayed well past the 11 o’clock scheduled end time. Everyone hopes that another casino party will occur this October. Thank you Steve and Sheri!
More Components Purchased
Have you taken a look at www.twistypinesplayground.org lately? If you have, you will have noticed that the list of donors is increasing dramatically. Just recently Andrea Osborn of Osborn appraisals donated the $250 Crow’s Nest for the playground, Applegate Interiors, Inc. donated the third section of park perimeter fencing for $2500, and Linda Koehler donated the $850 sandbox with benches for the playground. Thank you neighbors! Don’t forget that your employer might match your donation.
